Love Lemons!

A Great Time Saver Tip:

I love adding fresh lemon juice to just about everything! To my salads, juices a splash in my water, it’s even great to have on hand if I want to start my day with a lemon and cayenne-pepper drink.

I recommend picking up handful of lemons each week at the store (I use about 5-7 between my husband and I) or better yet pick them fresh from a tree in your own yard or neighbors ;). Juice or squeeze them and store in a sealed container like a mason jar in the fridge so you have it ready and on hand whenever you need. I think this added convenience is great and makes it easy to throw together a healthy salad dressing (I just mix with Olive Oil and add a little sea salt, and sometimes fresh minced garlic, YUM!).

Lemons are great to incorporate into your daily diet. They provide a lot of Vitamin C and is great for fighting infections and boosting your immune system. The citric acid they contain also has an alkalinizing effect on the body and help reduce heartburn and acid reflux. Lemons are also powerful for flushing out the liver and gallbladder especially taken on an empty stomach.

For a great detox cleansing drink try mixing 2 Tablespoons Organic Lemon Juice, 1-2 Tablespoons Maple syrup (optional) 1/8 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (or as much as you can handle) with 10 oz of Spring or filtered warn water. This is a great drink to incorporate first thing in the morning upon waking up.

Cayenne is great for rebuilding the tissues in the stomach, aids in the assimilation and absorption of nutrients from food. Helps create Hydrochloric acid (stomach acid) so we can easily digested our food. Increases circulation and blood flow while lowering blood pressure and helps jump start your metabolism.
